The Harris family had a fun afternoon yesterday skating all over Cutfoot Sioux Lake! The ice is smooth and dark. We didn’t see any spots with less than 6″ of ice, and several spots had closer to 9″. There were small pillow drifts that we could skate around or through. While we are anxious for snow (it’s brown and ugly), the lack of snow makes for great skating! Bryan

We finally have ice!
December 6, 2011Cutfoot Sioux finally froze over last night. We’ve had sheets of ice floating around for about a week, but it just wouldn’t go until last night, our first below zero night. The forecast looks cold and dry for the next several days, which will hopefully help to make the ice thicker and safer. It might be a week or two before fishermen can comfortably trek out there. Signs of Fall
September 14, 2011This morning the lake had that “look”! Steam rolling off, north wind blowing and sun shining. Fishermen lined up at the dock to gas up and head out on the lake, gloves in hand! The temperature was in the mid 30′s about 8 am. Hoping for some good fishing reports later today. Susie

Perfect fall day!
September 8, 2011Perfect fall day! 78 degrees, clear skies, the lake is sparkling like diamonds and the crappies are biting on the buoy line! Simply stunning. Susie

Fall in the air!
September 5, 2011Fall is knocking on the door step! Mid 30′s last eve, but warming up to high 60′s today! As always, there are a few leaves turning early as you drive south on Hwy 46! The rafts and swim buoys are being cleaned and tucked away for the winter, today. Hopefully we will have some great fall fishing reports to pass on! Enjoy the change in the air! Susie

Fishing Licenses while state is shutdown
July 7, 2011We have been informed by the local DNR that anyone coming from out of state, wishing to fish and is unable to purchase a license, CAN fish without the license. If the angler is stopped, a warning will be given. Once the state is up and running, the angler must purchase the license that would have been used within 10 days of the state “reopening”. If the license is not purchased within 10 days, the DNR will send a ticket to the angler. Sue
